Yesterday whilst cleaning records, a concealed pocket edge of 1969’s Crosby, Stills, and Nash had come unstuck. Over 50 years of pressed glue had lost its tack. From this concealed sleeve fell the inner lyrics. On the back, many words from love songs and romantic sentences of affection. Lyrics and words written by a struck 18 year old of the 60’s. We spotted Lennon, Love, CSN, in there.
So we got in touch with the seller of the collection, asking if she would like her letter back. It was with great delight to all to find that the owner had not seen the letter before! However, she does remember her teenage boyfriend fondly. This letter has been concealed for 50 years, waiting to one day be read. “When you read this in the future, think of me”… (could you imagine the very last month of 2022!)
One of the more touching items to have unexpectedly turned up in our shop recently. M if you’re out there, know that you are a true beautiful romantic, through and through, and we love you just as much as you loved S.
