We were honored to host a special guest this February: Bobby Gill, the visionary artist behind the iconic cover art for George Harrison’s Wonderwall Music.
Career & Legacy
Bobby is a central figure in the British art scene with a career spanning over six decades:
Education: Studied at Bath Academy of Art Corsham (1957–1960).
Academia: A tutor at the Royal College of Art for over 30 years (1973–2004), where she is now an Honorary Fellow.
Teaching: She continues to run her own painting and drawing school from her Notting Hill Gate studio.
The Lyme Regis Connection
Lyme Regis has been a constant in Bobby’s life since childhood. Based at her family cottage on Marine Parade during the winter, she draws deep inspiration from the changing views of Lyme Bay.
Rather than literal landscapes, her current paintings are atmospheric explorations of the environment—shaped by the shifting seasons, weather, and tides of the Jurassic Coast.
It was a privilege to have such a distinguished artist and local resident stop by the shop.
