From the Sgt. Pepper Cutting Room Floor: Jann Haworth’s "COWBOY"

Every now and then, a piece of music history wanders into the shop that makes even a seasoned collector like me take a beat. We’ve all stared at the cover of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band for hours, trying to spot every face in the crowd. But what’s even more fascinating is what didn't make the final cut.

We are incredibly proud to showcase a signed print of “COWBOY” by the legendary Jann Haworth.

The Woman Behind the Masterpiece

If you don't know the name Jann Haworth, you certainly know her work. A pioneer of soft sculpture, she was the co-creator of the Sgt. Pepper album cover alongside Peter Blake. While history sometimes leans heavily on the "Pop Art" side of that collaboration, it was Jann’s life-sized cloth figures—hand-sewn and meticulously crafted—that gave that cover its uncanny, 3D depth.

The One That Got Away

"COWBOY" was one of those original soft sculptures intended to stand amongst the icons on that famous flower-bed stage. For reasons lost to the frantic energy of 1967, he didn't make the final photograph.

Seeing him now is like finding a "lost track" from the greatest album of all time. He carries that same whimsical, slightly surreal DNA that defined the psychedelic era. To have a print signed by Jann herself—a true visionary who helped define the visual language of the 60s—is a massive honor for the shop.
