Where it all began
Vinyl Saturday started in Bridport in 2008, when Clocktower Records' owner Roy Gregory suggested the town promoted a day around records. Plenty of people doubted it as at the time, pre-loved records weren't much of a thing. What happened was this; the charity shops saved up their donated vinyl, around 25 stallholders turned up for the first fair, and it was held in and around the Electric Palace and the Ropemakers pub.
It grew into a regular fair with the support of the town, and buyers now travel from London, Bristol and well beyond. Record Collector magazine has named Vinyl Saturday its Record Fair of the Year.
