Bees Captain Luke Reviews the match

I Thought we started the game pretty well, we got the ball down and played some decent football and created some good chances via Tom and Sol. The only chances they really created were from our own mistakes so the two we conceded we weren’t too disheartened by.

Going in at half time we felt strongly that attacking the beehive with the wind behind us we could get something. The next goal was always going to be huge. As soon as we scored the first, momentum swung in our favour and you could see throughout the team we believed. Scoring a second quickly really took the sting out of them as they just resorted to lumping it and exposing themselves at the back. Fred was unreal in leading the counter and finding Brad who caused them issues with his pace.

The boys all worked hard to lock things up at the back. Locky was unreal when he came on his presence and leadership really got us over the line. They’re a decent outfit and will be right up there this year so that win felt good. We’ve said all along we need to make the beehive a fortress and so far we’ve done that.
