ABOUT APOTHECARY Apothecary is a spoken word event running every other month on the second Tuesday. It’s open to a variety of spoken word forms: stories and flash fiction, poetry, rap, comedy and musical contributions from singer-songwriters. All genres, ages and abilities are welcome in an open mic format. Slots are up to 5 minutes. Please send this on to anyone who may be interested or subscribe to our Facebook page below. Tuesday 12th March at Clocktower Records in Bridport. It’s funky and friendly; there’s a bar, merch stall.
Please come and sign up at 7pm (at the very earliest!) if you want to participate, for a 7.30pm start. It’s £2 entry for contributors, or £3 for audience members.
Remember it’s only 5 minutes on the mic, so please make your performances small in length, but large in exuberance and ambition!
Apothecary happens once every 2 months for now, as we want to keep you keen….. and judging by the quality of our participant’s pieces, it seems that the talking cure is still an effective remedy for all that ails you.
As usual we will be welcoming all the finest random words that you would like to offer, in any format you would like to bring them! We would love to hear all genres of original work, from all ages of people. Also, if this is your first time in front of the mic, we will be as pleased to see you perform as much as a seasoned professional… We love to hear from everybody!
